Strong People Aboriginal Community Safety Program

The Aboriginal Community Safety Program is a response to domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) in Aboriginal communities in NSW.

Our Strong People project delivers services and supports to Aboriginal people in the Dubbo region who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing DFSV and promotes wellbeing and safety for Aboriginal individuals, families and communities at risk of or experiencing DFSV.

Our Strong People project engages women, men and children in community healing activities at the Akela Place Community Hall and other locations in Dubbo.

All activities are age-appropriate, culturally safe, trauma-informed, and are responsive to experiences of DFSV.

Through engagement in activities a community response will be developed to address violence-supportive behaviours and improve community practices.
